On 19 July 2026, Tamron Singapore invited professional photographers and photography KOLs to preview and test the new Tamron 12 to 20mm F2.8, Model A084.
The event featured a product presentation, hands on testing, an outdoor architectural shoot and a participant photo contest.
An Exclusive First Look at the Tamron A084
Tamron Singapore recently welcomed a selected group of respected photographers from Singapore’s photography community for an exclusive first look at the new Tamron 12-20mm F2.8, Model A084.
Held before the lens officially reached the market, the event gave invited photographers an opportunity to experience the lens in person, understand its technical capabilities and explore the creative possibilities of its remarkable 12mm ultra wide perspective.
The gathering brought together experienced photographers with different creative styles and specialities. It was an enjoyable opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss photography and connect with fellow members of the local imaging community.
More than a product introduction, the event was designed as a complete photography experience. Participants moved from a detailed technical presentation to an outdoor photography session, where they could use the lens in real shooting conditions and discover how its features translated into practical creative results.
Technical Presentation by Bryan Goh
The programme began with an informative presentation by Bryan Goh, a well known and highly respected figure within Singapore’s photography industry.

Taking the Tamron12-20 F2.8 Into the Real World
After the presentation, the photographers and KOLs headed outdoors for a practical photography session through Singapore’s urban surroundings.
The city provided an ideal setting for testing the A084. Modern buildings, geometric structures, reflective surfaces, repeating patterns and strong leading lines allowed participants to explore the dramatic character of the 12mm perspective.
Photographers experimented with low shooting angles, close foreground elements, symmetry, reflections and converging lines. The wide field of view made it possible to include entire buildings and surrounding environments within a single frame while still preserving detailed architectural features.
The lens’s well controlled distortion was particularly noticeable when photographing building facades. Vertical and horizontal lines remained clean and natural, helping photographers produce more balanced architectural compositions without the exaggerated bending often associated with extreme wide angle photography.

It was a fun and rewarding experience for the photographers, KOLs and the Tamron Singapore team. Seeing each participant interpret the same environment in a completely different way highlighted the creativity and individuality within Singapore’s photography community.
Photography Contest
To add another creative dimension to the event, participating photographers were invited to submit some of their best photographs captured with the Tamron 12-20mm F2.8 during the session.
The entries presented many different interpretations of Singapore’s city architecture. Some images focused on symmetry and structure, while others used reflections, foreground emphasis, dramatic perspective and repeating lines to create a stronger visual impact.
Every submission demonstrated creativity, technical skill and a personal photographic style. The wide variety of compositions also showed how one ultra wide lens could produce completely different results depending on the photographer’s vision.
