A celebration of the best frames from Tamron Singapore’s Mersing Photography Trip — and a chance for the winners to bring home new Tamron glass.
To round off the Mersing Photography Trip (17–19 April 2026), we ran a closed photo contest open only to the participants who travelled with us. From sunset at the Lone Tree to long-exposure Milky Way frames at the Endau Abandoned Ship, every entry came from the field — shot on the same skies and in the same conditions.
After reviewing the submissions, two frames stood out for their composition, technical execution, and the way they captured the spirit of the trip.
🥇 1st Prize — @victor_zhuo
A breathtaking Milky Way frame anchored by a softly lit wooden hut nestled against the foliage. The galactic core sits beautifully balanced above the rooftop — a textbook example of how a strong foreground transforms an astro shot from a sky photo into a sense-of-place photo. Clean stars, controlled noise, and warm earthy tones in the foreground that play off the cooler night sky.
Prize: Tamron Lens Voucher worth $1,000
🥈 2nd Prize — @initium.photography
A striking star trail composition framed by silhouetted trees on the right edge. The diagonal motion of the trails gives the frame energy and direction, while the natural framing adds depth and scale. A patient, well-planned long-exposure piece that shows real command of star-stacking technique.
Prize: Tamron Lens Voucher worth $500
